Tervehdys, Reserviläiset – EP1 – Jalkineet
Hello reservists! Greetings from Varusteleka We want to give you a few tips on how to make your trainings, or other reservist activities, much more enjoyable experiences. But… Let’s get rid of these sweets and knick-knacks! And get straight to the point. First things first: get your footwear in order. The issued combat boots or rubber boots work just fine, but footwear that you feel comfortable in will notably increase your performance. Our group has favoured the Alpina Trappers, Jalas Fantoms, or then Salomon’s 4D model. They are all quite suitable for field use. If you don’t think you need your own footwear, then no worries! Your own set of insoles is another great trick. So just put these in the issued combat boots or the rubber boots, and your feet will be that much more comfortable. In addition to the footwear, naturally, some good socks. You should choose merino wool – either a normal pair of merino socks, or a thicker pair of boots socks. Then, based on your situational needs, you could also use a thin pair of socks. You should use double or even triple layers. That way you can greatly reduce the chances of getting blisters during a march. So, a good pair of boots, insoles, socks in order, and your feet will thank you in the long run. Training will be a breeze. So see you at training – train hard!
