Local churches sending gifts to kids in need through shoe boxes


TOPEKA CHURCHES ARE CHANGING KIDS LIVES — ONE SHOE BOX AT A TIME. “NORTHLAND CHRISTIAN CHURCH” IS ONE OF THE CHURCHES PARTNERING WITH “SAMARITAN’S PURSE.” SAMARITAN’S PURSE IS A CHRISTIAN HUMANITARIAN ORGANIZATION. THEY WORK WITH CHURCHES IN THE U-S FOR THEIR “OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD”, THE INITITIVE SUPPLIES CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR KIDS ACROSS THE WOLD WHO HAVE BEEN HURT BY WAR POVERTY OR DISEASE. THE GIFTS INCLUDE TOYS, HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES. ONE OF NORTHLAND’S TEAM LEADERS SAYS ONE ITEM KIDS LOOK FORWARD TO MOST –ARE THEIR OWN TOOTHBRUSHES.THE SHOE BOXES ARE SENT TO CHILDREN OUTSIDE OF THE U-S–SUCH AS MEXICO– THE PHILIPPINES AND RUSSIA.
