Horse Boots – Cavallo Sport Hoof Boot Fitting

  • Jamie W – Hockessin – if the boot is able to rotate when on the horse, then it is too big

  • Anne R – Libertyville – The hoof should be measured from the front of the hoof to the buttress point, using the measuring guide included with the boot.

  • Paul S – Plaistow – Use the measuring quide from the butress point to the front of the hoof. Perfect fit is cannot rotate boot, but a little movement side to side is ok.

  • Deborah A – Dallas – wrap with cellophane when doing a trial fitting, a little bit of side to side is okay, as the foot expands when weight is applied

  • Laura D-Plaistow-Cavallo sport boot when fitting correctly can wiggle side to side which accommodates hoof expansion when the horse has weight on his hoof. But the boot should not be able to rotate around.

  • Ashlyn O – Branchburg – If it is difficult to get the boot on it is most likely the wrong size, should go on snuggly but not too tight. It is OK for the boot to wiggle when on because the hoof expands during movement and weight bearing.

  • How does this boot compare with the Simple in terms of performance and durability?

  • They don't look like they'd stay on in any sport work.
